RAISE is a collaborative festive fundraising event, produced by B4, that is calling on B4 members and the wider Oxfordshire business network to support its ambition of raising £50,000 for Oxfordshire good causes.
RAISE will be held on Friday 13th December 2024 from 9am to 3pm at Keble College, Oxford, OX1 3PG
A maximum of 25 teams will work together to invite and encourage their networks to make a donation to Raise'24, which will then be distributed to selected causes. Each team will have a fundraising target, which they’ll be asked to achieve in the lead-up to and on the 13th December. Teams will be encouraged to get creative to reach their target – making phone calls, emailing or even posting videos on social media – however takes your fancy.
Raise'24 will be raising money for five core charities, those being Homeless Oxfordshire, Oxfordshire Community Foundation, Oxfordshire Youth, Plunkett UK and Sobell House, as well as five partnering causes which are Connection Support, debra, Be Free Young Carers, Oxfordshire Sexual Abuse & Rape Crisis Centre, Pancreatic Cancer UK and one more to be announced.
Teams of four are welcome to get involved. This can be made up of individuals from the same organisation or from various companies – it’s up to you. We very much welcome collaborative working! You can also enter as an individual in which case we will put you in to a team with other individual entries – see more below.
We’re asking each person to raise at least £500 or £2,000 per team – of course, you’re very welcome to raise even more if you can.
Teams are invited to start fundraising as soon as they want to. Up to 100% of the target can be fundraised during the year through other activities. If you hit your target before 13th December then you can use the day to raise even more or just support others who have yet to reach their target. You might want to request a slot on the big day to perform an act like belting out your favourite song to help you hit your target.
These are donations that have been pledged prior to the 13th December. These will come from individual and team contacts who have been ‘primed’ to get involved beforehand. On the day, teams will then call ‘pledgers’ to ask them to make their donation. Of course if the pledges have been made before the big day that's absolutely fine!
The cost of entering a team for B4 Members is £450+VAT. The B4 Members’ teams can include colleagues or non-B4 Members. The rate for non-B4 Member teams (opening on 1st July) is £500+VAT so to qualify for the discounted rate your team must be entered by a B4 Member and your team must contain a B4 Member on the day.
Individuals can also enter, and we’ll put them together with other individuals to make up a full team. The Individual rate is £115+VAT for B4 Members and £125+VAT for non-B4 Members.
Your entry fee will include breakfast, refreshments during the morning, pre-lunch drinks in the college bar and a three course Christmas Lunch for all four team members or for individuals if you’re entering on your own.
The day will begin with breakfast at 9am in the Great Hall at Keble, followed by a motivational speech at 9.30am that will inspire teams to raise, raise, raise! Just after 10am, the fundraising fun will begin, during which time we’ll have lots of fun planned to keep the festive spirit going and teams entertained. At 12pm, the fundraising will end and everyone will enjoy a pre-lunch drink in the college bar before sitting down to a sumptuous three course Christmas lunch back in the Great Hall at 12.45pm. During the lunch the grand total will be announced, and some special awards will be handed out. The event is scheduled to end around 3pm.
You’ll be invited to collect your donations via the Enthuse platform: Oxfordshire Community Foundation: B4 RAISE '24 (enthuse.com) where you can create individual team fundraising pages.
Funds raised will be held by Oxfordshire Community Foundation (OCF) in a dedicated B4 Raise Fund, which will allow Gift Aid to be added where relevant. OCF will then distribute funds to the beneficiary charities as grants in 2025.
The total raised through the Raise event will be divided equally across six ‘pots’. Five of those pots will be donated to the five core (Gold) charities, while the sixth pot will be shared among the partnering (Silver) charities.
You can sign up to enter your team of four or as an individual at https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/raise-24-tickets-906652420797?utm-campaign=social&utm-content=attendeeshare&utm-medium=discovery&utm-term=listing&utm-source=cp&aff=ebdsshcopyurl
There are two ways you can support the event if you’re not able to enter a team. Firstly you can make a donation direct to the Enthuse platform here: Oxfordshire Community Foundation: B4 RAISE '24 (enthuse.com). Alternatively we can speak to you about a tailored way your organisation can support RAISE’24. For example, restaurants can have donation cards on their tables with a QR code linking directly through to the donation page, or your organisation can run a fundraising event where the proceeds go direct to Raise'24 or, like one partner we will be announcing shortly, you can host a golf day where the proceeds go to the fund. Anything is possible!
Yes please! In fact, we actively encourage you to get into the spirit and come dressed in Christmas themed outfits. This will be one of our Awards – best dressed team!!
Yes please. We’ll be able to provide the stunning venue and fun but please bring along your own laptops and or phones in order to make contact with your donors.
Absolutely. We’re looking for partners to sponsor different elements of the Raise campaign which will mean that more money on the day will go to the charities we’re supporting. If you’d like to find out more about how you can be a sponsor of this exciting event, please get in touch with Richard Rosser at richard@b4-business.com.
Please do contact Tina Rosser at tina@b4-business.comif you would like to put your name forward as a volunteer. We will have a lot of charities supporting on the day but extra pairs of hands are always welcome.
Of course anything to help us raise more money. Please contact tina@b4-business.com with your suggestion.
